【藤田望愛　ステートメント／Artist statement】

私は日本の伝統的な染色技法である友禅染を用いて、心の中の安らぎの空間を布に描いた作品を制作しています。

2020年から6年間、私たちは多くの困難な出来事を経験しました。新型コロナウイルスによる自粛生活にはじまり、戦争や大規模な地震など、心が苦しくなるような辛い事態が世界中で起こっています。

私たちはこれまで、平和の近くにいると感じていましたが、これらの出来事を通して、平和や安心、安らぎは、実はまだまだ遠いところにあるのではないかと深く考えるようになりました。

その過程で、私自身の心にあった安らぎの空間、つまり心象風景の輪郭がはっきりと見えてきたのです。

それは、穏やかな風が吹き、豊かな自然の中で生き物たちがのびのびと過ごしている、そんな世界です。

本展では友禅染で染め上げたこの「心の中の安らぎの空間」を通して、鑑賞者の皆様にも平和と安らぎについて思いを巡らせていただければ幸いです。

I create works using the traditional Japanese dyeing technique of yūzen, depicting the tranquil spaces within my heart upon fabric.

Over the past six years since 2020, we have experienced many challenging events. Beginning with the self-restraint imposed by the novel coronavirus, painful situations causing anguish have unfolded worldwide—including wars and major earthquakes.

We had previously felt peace was within reach, yet these events led me to deeply contemplate whether peace, security, and tranquillity might actually remain far beyond our grasp.

Through this process, the contours of my own inner sanctuary—my mental landscape—became distinctly visible.

It is a world where gentle breezes blow, and creatures live freely amidst abundant nature.

In this exhibition, I hope that through these yūzen-dyed representations of my ‘inner tranquil spaces,’ viewers too may find themselves reflecting upon peace and tranquillity.
